Does anyone know of any study services/tutors that will review practice essay questions so that I can practice them prior to the exam? I always find the answer banks in extended response practice materials lacking because it’s difficult to evaluate my performance against the answer key given the different language choices and brevity.

I don’t know about services/tutors but i can tell you what worked for me.
I did past AM exams. From 2009 to 2018. The entire month of May that’s all i did. Must have done each one twice, and some three times. It’s the best way to get a sense of how the CFA institute expects you to structure your responses.
In fact I was so obsessed with mastering the AM that i barely did any PM practice.
I just passed. 2nd time taker. Was 90th percentile in the AM, around 50th percentile in the PM.

I did almost exactly this and had the opposite results (less than 60% AM, more than 70% PM). Which is odd because I found the AM easy and PM crushing. This exam is an odd one and you never really know what will happen. Congrats to those who passed and stick with it to those who were not fortunate.
