Inactive Participants

Inactive Participants can be divided into retirees and deferreds. What is the definition/difference between the two? Thanks,

I think deferreds don’t work there anymore, but aren’t retired yet. They got a new job somewhere else.

Or deferreds could have had an early retirement and not yet be eligible for a pension.
