Question for you smart people

While doing the Private Wealth CFAI questions I noticed that when they ask for the return objectives, sometimes they expect you to actually calculate a return and sometimes they just expect you to talk about the persons return objectives without doing the calculations. I’m a little confused as to which questions I should be going through the effort of calculating the return needed vs just talking about what the investor wants to achieve. Any thoughts?

I would say if the information for calculating it is there… Calculate it!
