posting links or images

Using the add image button does not work… in fact I can’t cancel the entry box after it does not work and have to close the whole page. I have also tried just basic cut and paste., That does not work either (I right click, the paste button comes up, the button does not work). I have also tried “ctrl-V”… and THAT doesn’t work either. How is everyone else doing if?

ctrl V

Windows 8.1

Internet Explorer 11

the link takes me to a page that says JavaScript enabled… yes

^ I think IE 11 is your problem. Since upgrading to IE 11, I’ve not been able to paste anything here either.

good call higgmond, hopefully they will sort this out.

You should be using Chrome anyway!

I use IE10 and can do it.

  1. Click the Image icon button from Add your comment box
  2. Insert URL into URL box on Image Info tab within Image Properties pop-up window (leave everything else blank)
  3. Click OK

I tried this with IE11 and while it does allow me to paste the URL into the URL box, clicking on OK doesn’t do anything. In fact, neither the OK nor the Cancel buttons do anything and I had to close the page entirely. I never had any problems pasting prior to upgrading to IE11. As with ohai, I do not have the option of using another browser at work.

^You should talk to your IT department. Nearly every IT guy hates IE and they love Chrome. Wouldn’t be surprised if you could get your company’s policy changed…and all for AF.

My understanding is that other groups in our company use some really old web-based applications that only work with IE. I had Chrome on my machine for a while and my IT department removed it.

I was able to copy and paste this from IE 11.

The deal is worth around $108 billion, and is set to be the biggest takeover so far this year.

the resizing function is really awesome…jk cheeky

Thanks Chad. Must be some setting in IE 11 that I have set incorrectly. The odd thing is that I can paste into other websites with no problems.

I did some Googling and activated Compatibility View for AF and am able to paste again. It messes up how some things look, but worth the trade off.

^It works!

look out AF… I can post ephemera and nonsence now too!

Thanks for posting a fix!

^ My one meaningful contribution to AF.

wait… .what!? Can you please give me a step by step guide on this compatibility mode thing
