Learning for Fun & Profit and Brainstorming Retirement Portolios

Hi there,

Hopefully I have found the right forum. I don’t need any paper (but if it has a high correlation of what I want to learn for my own personal benefit then why not?), what I want to cquire is some practical, ral-life applicable knowledge of analyzing passive/investment/retirement portfolios, such as the infamous Boglehead (index funds+bonds) portfolio or the even more infamous Permanent Portfolio.

I am especially interested in how a Us based portfolio compares to a woldwide diversified one or for example an Australian or South African based one.

See country lists from page 37, esp. the ones mentioned above; Wolrd, US, AU, SA.

I heard about Monete Carlo simulations as well to compare results by changing multiple parameters in a portfolio for example to get some insights but I don’t yet know how to do it.

On the Internets you can find many free curriculums possibly I just need some guidance on what I need and what I don’t need.

Some brainstorming on the topic would be nice as well!
