I'm using Jorion's Value-At-Risk 2nd edition rather than 3rd edition

Are they significantly different? Should I go out and pick up the new version of the book? Thanks in advance! Chapter 1 - The Need for Risk Management was simply an introduction to the material. It talks about VaR in general, talks about Market Risk vs Credit Risk vs Operational Risk vs Liquidity Risk and mentions the RiskMetrics from JPMorgan. An easy enough read.

VAR? LOL!

Eh? Not sure what you are referring to, Idiamond, VaR would be just a tiny portion of the curriculum. Legal, operational… there is more to it than VaR. Check the CBOK (or whatever it might be called).
