I assume this would be after your work experience has been approved. There is a little blurb that mentions if you submit your resumé via Resumé Builder and have it approved by March 31, 2010, your FRM certificate will be sent to you sometime in April (don’t remember the exact date). However, I’m not sure what the protocol is - whether you need the certificate to authenticate your credential, or simply having your work experience approved satisfies all requirements, and thus, allows you to use the FRM designation before receiving the certificate.
I have sufficient work experience to as demonstrated by having CFA. I will not wait until april to use the FRM designation.
GARP says we can not use FRM until we get an email approving our experience, when do we get those mails?

I heard from a very nice person at GARP who was trying to get me to attend their upcoming conference. “We have several thousand resumes to review and we will start in the next month or so. Expect an email sometime in March, certificates will be sent out in April.” He was very nice on the phone and very helpful on getting information for me. Not the immediate approval I was going for, but at least it sounds honest.
