Anyone have any experience with these things? I find the idea interesting. Not sure if I’d want to run a small company, but maybe as an investor.
I have no experience with search funds, but I’ve gotten exposure to the business of searching and buying the same companies as an investment strategy. I’m still very new to it, but I’ll answer any questions I can answer. I’ve seen how it works on a few deals.
I recently heard this discussed in length via multiple podcasts. Check out Patrick O’Shaughnessy’s podcast, Invest Like the Best. There’s an episode, I believe it’s called ‘Real Private Equity.’ Stanford also has some material on the concept.
