Affirmative Action approaching the end?

Courts are reviewing the use of affirmative action at University of Texas. I’m surprised this is still around but perhaps other people have arguments in support of using this antiquated method of diversification.

AA is now for white people who are crying reverse racial discrimination.

Yep, my litte bro (he’s white) just got a white-only scholarship to Howard, so the tide is definitely turning on this kind of thing.

I see Elena Kagan recused herself because she was previously involved.

I guess she wasn’t previously involved with Obamacare when she was Solicitor General and put together the defense team for the case.

Respect.

the pendulum always over-swings. Especially if govt is involved

RACISM EXPLAINED A black kid asks his mother, “Mama, what’s a Democracy?” “Well, son, that’s when white folks work every day so we can get all our benefits, you knows like free cell phones for each family member, rent subsidy, food stamps, WIC, free healthcare, utility subsidy, & the list goes on & on, you knows”. "But mama, don’t the white people get pissed off about that? “Sure they do, that’s called racism!” (Never more simply explained)

Your brother in about six months:

Well, people are still using 1/N portfolios, so antiquated diversification methods have quite a lot of staying power.

Not going anywhere. There just might be a reshuffling. Rit now it looks like the Latinos re in a turf war with the blacks to see who gets to carve up the AA benefits.

Blacks are still carving up the majority fur sure.

This article has an interesting conclusion, But ultimately it’s still kind of BS because they tested submissions of resumes and callbacks. If those companies were truly racist, you would totally get dinged anyway when you went in for the in-person interview.

decision should be up soon

supreme court upholds AA

Booo!

Vote was 4-3. Who abstained?

Edit: Justice Elena Kagan sat out the case because she worked on it while serving in the Justice Department.

I’ll give credit where it is due—this is actually one good thing Trump Admin has done. :+1:

Institutional racism is just flat out wrong. Everyone agrees on that, except the racists (like Obama, corporate media, Dems, and leftists who have been busy creating racism). Trump is actually the anti-racist, despite being called the racist, by the racist corporate media.

he didn do nuffin.’ - True, the same people crying how racism is wrong and substance is more important than appearance (it is 100%) are the same ones that argue institutions should discriminate in favor for blacks/hispanics (including well-off blacks and white hispanics) because of physical appearances. To the point that I’m impressed by the extremely tough mental gymnastics that they do to justify their reasoning to themselves.
