Top Movie Scene of all Time

What is your all time favorite movie. Particular scenes for me are:

  1. Ending of the movie Snatch

  2. Godfather I: Michael meeting with Carlo before he dies & when he goes to Italy and tells his future wife’s father, “she can gain a husband instead of lose a father”

  3. Godfather II: pretty much the entire movie but one is when michael says he offers the senator nothing

  4. Rocky climbing the philly stairs

  5. Wall Street: When Larry Wildman and GG meet in his house

Notable mentions include fightclub (his name was xxx), gladiator (ending), training day (king kong aint got), boiler room (the casino part),

All time favorite scene is from A Brox Tale. When Sunny tells the bikers that they cant leave his bar

Teen Mom video at marker 5:39 is good

Goodfellas - the restaurant scene

Apocalypse Now - the beginning when Martin Sheen actually is drunk; Duvall loving the smell of napalm in the morning; and meeting Kurtz.

Star Wars: Empire - Luke I am your father.

2001 - Shutting down HAL

Batman: The Dark Knight - the Joker sticking his head out of the police cruiser

Pulp Fiction - all of it

(I intentionally left off all the 80’s comedies as they should have their own list.)

I’ll go with Christopher Walken and Dennis Hopper in “True Romance”

Warning: lots of swearing

The Beach at Dunkirk steady shot scene in Atonement: http://www.steadishots.org/shots_detail.cfm?shotID=298

…and pretty much every scene in Dumb and Dumber.

Actually, the correct quote is:

  • Darth Vader: Obi-Wan never told you what happened to your father.
  • Luke Skywalker: He told me enough! He told me you killed him!
  • Darth Vader: No. I am your father.
  • Luke Skywalker: No… that’s not true! That’s impossible!

^ I really thought it would be greenman who corrected him. Maybe he’s still convulsing and not yet able to type.

Search your feelings, you know it to be true.

To those who butcher Star Wars quotes:

Saw that sack.

This is a more unforgiveable sin than attending a lowly university like NYU.

I think of this scene from Dumb & Dumber each time a company that I’m shorting reports spectacularly bad results: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-ZPIz1996g

Actually you guys f’ed up. I was quoting Tommy Boy.

Dirty Dancing - when he lifts her up. LOL!

When Vito Corleone came back to Sicilia and visited this fat guy who killed his mother, cutting him side to side like a dry-cured ham.
