Yo rahul roy

What is your thoughts on butter chicken?

I am pure veggie.

You a saag paneer fellow?

yes

Try out Kadhai Chicken, its yummier. Butter Chicken is too sweet IMO, but Kadhai Chicken is the right blend of spices, onions, other veggies and boneless chicken (not that spicy either).

I knew we kept you Indian guys around for a reason!

so i finally manned up and ordere saag paneer and asked for them to put chicken in there. i must say it wasnt the best match with the cheese but it was good. i think im goona stick with saag paneer and order chicken tikka seperately

Indian foods are very tasty.

You should try chola bhatura/masala kulcha/malai kofta…etc

You should also try uttapam/dosa/idli/sambar…

As far as i know from my personal experiences Indian foods are very costly in USA.But you can try good Indian foods at Utsav resturant in Times square Newyork.

There are some very good Indian resturants like Maharaja or Maharaini etc in Newzersy.

However if you want to try good “chola” dishes…then perhaps you should visit a afgani+Indian resturant few Kms from Darden Business school.

I keep trying to like saag paneer and I just can’t. I just don’t like it. Give me butter chicken, lamb vindaloo, so many other options any day.

How is that possible? Do you not like spinach or something?

And Rahul, good to know man. I was looking for a more Rahul type post telling me what to eat. But I’m not a NYC guy (when I ate nice Indian food in DC it wasn’t too expensive), but will be on the lookout for those dishes. I may actually visit India later this year or early next year, so need to be prepared

Please don’t say it’s for spiritual enlightenment

this is like going into a Thai restaurant and asking for pad thai but with rice instead of noodles

or going into an American restaurant and asking for a tofu hot dog with French whole grain mustard

or going into a Scottish restaurant and asking for something that’s not deep fried.

I already have my Guru. If you haven’t seen this, it’s worth a watch:

Quite the timing for this thread. I’m invited to an Indian place later tonight.

Lamb vindaloo is my fave

Lamb Vindaloo or Tikka Masala tastes great after multiple beers. Although avoid the spicy ones with alcohol.
