Coffee man

So yesterday I was going to school and since I arrived pretty much sooner than the class would start,I sat in a nearby park reading a book.Somewhat behind me an old man was sitting on a bench giving very decent philosophical advice to a black homeless guy about his own age.Upon turning my head around I found that this man of wisdom was homeless is well(judging by his clothes and the tent he had set up).I felt kind of sorry for him since by the way he spoke he seemed to be a wise man who looked at life pretty rationally and deep.So once his companion left I offered to buy him coffee in a very subtle way (not to hurt his ego) and honestly I think I would have enjoyed having a chat with him and listening to his story. He got up,shook my hand thanked me for asking and said he had one about ten minutes ago.The thing is since I sat behind him for about an hour he never had a coffee. So I am kind of guilty about hurting this dudes ego while I was trying to help.
