The Official "Wall" Thread

It was passed by a Democrat.  And, no, Democrats aren’t really defending it or the TPP which is the problem. Anyway, the fact that it’s already in place is relevant.  Countless jobs and economic developments had been build because of NAFTA, all of which could crumble if you take it away.  This is very different than starting a new free trade deal where the pain is generally front loaded.

Ah, how things have changed in 25 years. Look at this vote split for NAFTA. Pretty bipartisan by today’s standards. 102 dems and 132 repubs voted for it.

To thwart illegal immigration from Mexico they should establish a free trade zone between the United States, Mexico, and Canada. In doing so, we can better align capital with labor and strengthen existing supply chains.  As a result, we’ll see cheaper and better goods in the US and a improving Mexican economy which will ultimately serve the US as a market for its goods.  Oh wait that’s already happened, net immigration from Mexico is negative.

So it is your position that the economic conditions in the US are so dire and irreversibly negative that net immigration from Mexico will remain negative into perpetuity?  In that case, building a wall is a horrible idea because it will make it harder for us to emigrate illegally to Mexico in the future.

Haven’t you seen The Day After Tomorrow? We’ll all need to enter Mexico to escape climate change sometime in the near future!

Easiest solution is to just annex Mexico and build a wall on their southern border.  Wall goes from ~2,000 miles to ~700, plus we get to keep all the cheap labor.  Most illegal immigrants are from central America and not Mexico anyway.  enlightened

get on your knees and thank President Trump for his stand on immigration.  Too late for Europe, it’s crumbling from within.  Just in time for America.

This is very sensible proposed legislation.  puts the liability for not following the rule of law on those responsible:

why not allow citizens to sue politicians if any harm is caused by any state not following federal law. The South would have been more poor than it already is! This could get fun! But I assume you only want this for federal laws you like right?

A way to attempt to strong arm state & local politicians to following federal law? I thought you were a states rights guy Turd. Oh no, youre just a hypocrite like everyone else (myself included)

The wall was made to defend the realms of the First Men 8,000 years ago. According to legend, the wall was built by Brandon the Builder with help from giants and the Children of the Forrest.

Oh no, you don't want to mess with a guy thats riding on a buffalo.

this wall is going to be beautiful. how about a see thru wall that these  “rock climbers” cant climb.

Don’t ask me how but I know the border agent that trump spoke to today. Solid dude. He says build it and I’m inclined to trust his expert opinion. It will save many lives.

dont ask me how i know - but i dont trust your opinion in the slightest

“When a mercenary warrior (Matt Damon) is imprisoned within the Great Wall, he discovers the mystery behind one of the greatest wonders of the world. As wave after wave of marauding beasts besiege the massive structure, his quest for fortune turns into a journey toward heroism as he joins a huge army of elite warriors to confront the unimaginable and seemingly unstoppable force.”

This is the true reason for the wall. President Trump has intelligence that waves of marauding beasts will spring from the earth soon, and he is building a protective barrier to save American lives. Truly, he is the prince who was promised. Obviously, the government cannot make this information public, so as to avoid widespread panic. By opposing this crucial defense project, we are only compromising the safety of future generations.

Thank you and please don’t ever stop fighting for our country Mr. President!

We’re gonna win so much, you may even get tired of winning. And you’ll say, 'Please, please. It’s too much winning. We can’t take it anymore. Mr. President, it’s too much.' And I’ll say, 'No, it isn’t!' We have to keep winning!
