The article seems to be cut short? It didn’t really touch upon what and how the tax would be implemented? In general, I think a transaction tax on securities trades could be a pretty good move. It would probably increase tax income and put an end to high frequency trading.

It sounds like the efficacy of the tax kind of depends on what you’re shooting to actually accomplish. It reduces revenue and decreases liquidity, but hasn’t bee implemented long enough anywhere to see structural changes.

comissions were a lot higher before. and imo the market was a lot better for it!
