I too felt extremely confident after the exam. However, my confidence has taken a hit after remembering the questions and realizing I got some very, very easy questions wrong. The exact same thing happend to me after L1. I too had a dream about the test. I dreamt about passing the test and in my dream it was mentioned that the passing rate was exactly 40%. Would be funny if it comes true.
Actually the original exam for Level 2 Was easier than CFAI Mock in between schweser mock and CFAI But more towards schweser mock. But some questions was tricky. Ethics was tough even after studying CFAI Book. Expected MPS 72 - 76 Questions correct 60 -63 range. Last year 19000 people passed 19000 is a big number people.
not sure how MPS could be 72-76 w/ correct questions 60-63. i have no idea what the MPS could be but I’m pretty sure it has to be below 70. Test was was easier than CFAI practice tests. First half of NYC was easier than Schweser pratice and second half about even w/ Schweser. I don’t take Mocks so don’t know comparison. The problem is the trick/wordy questions you could miss if you are reading fast.
As a resitter I agree that there is a strong possibility we are all biased, I was certainly better prepared this year than last.
Alos to all of those who felt the exam was easy, last year I went in really worried, the exam itself settled me down and I thought, Okay, not to bad. I did what we all do and theorised what my matrix would look like. I thought I’d probably got 70+ in FRA and Equity would be there or thereabouts.
Man, was I shocked when I saw my results and saw I’d failed both of them. The rest of my matrix was about how I’d expected. Worst thing was I just did not know what I’d done wrong, still don’t except to say I clearly had not studied enough or done enought practice (like many failers I had done no mocks).
This year I feel the same, Equity and FRA went well the rest went a bit better than last year. Only difference being I know I put in the work to learn all the annoying adjustments I probably didn’t last year.
In short we cannot know until 9AM EST 23rd July. So try not to drive yourself insane trying to work it out.
Finally I’d like to say a big FU to Schweser for the question in Econ, as an FRM holder I’m at fault in Derivs.
seems a little low… with 62-63% passing score, i would think that more than 40% would pass. Also, based on how you said CF, Quant, FRA, EQ, and Alt were easy then you def passed. Not sure why you keep saying you failed if yo had no trouble on 5 sections then you should easly get a 65%. Am i missing something? The MPS is probably closer to like 68%, no?
Schwesser served me well for level 1 and 2. I won’t advise anyone to use schwesser alone for level 3. The curriculum is a must for level 3. I wish ya all the best of luck. July 23 will come and go, but I know that majority on analyst forum will pass. Pass rate on this forum is usually over 70 percent. Anyone wanna guess what it’ll be this time around.
from what i have read, it says 63-67, and judging by how difficult the second half of this exam was, i would hope that the MPS would dip to 63, but that’s just being optimistic
