Some interesting stories here. The funniest time I remember was when we had food cards without which the food would not be sold, and we would get some humanitarian aid in the form of enormous American chicken legs (as far as I remember that wasn’t free). The lines to get food were hours long. Lifelong savings disappeared with 3000% inflation. Cool time if you are 10-20 year old, not so cool for people who have just retired. Positive outcome: I am not afraid of anything. Negative outcome: I spend money quickly. However my childhood was happy, never hungry, good and free education and medicine. Unlike my greatgrandparents died in political prison labor camps, and my grandparents were prison survivors and they were illiterate villagers. And yes, over 50 grand now, but money is not important. More proud of speaking 6 languages, having worked in 3 countries, having traveled around the world, donating to a charity a little bit and being surrounded by superb people. Love my life

Much like now. 4-5 hours/day for a week or two, then crashing and sleeping for 10 hours and on the weekend as I didn’t have to start work til 10:30 or 11:30. Nothing special about techniques. Just between classes, I would go to the study and not fall behind.
