Personally, I thought the L3 material was easier (and more interesting!) than L2 but the test itself was much more difficult. I was about as prepared as one can be for L3 and was fist pumping on my way out because I knew I passed, but it was brutal. I read schweser twice and CFA materials once and put in about 450 hours, FWIW. Given that about half the people that passed L2 will fail Level 3, I have hard time agreeing with the idea that L3 is generally easier than 2. It’s all about putting in the work, no shortcuts.
Yep, no shortcuts. And the key is the morning session. You really have to understand how to take that kind of test. Answers need to be short, sweet and spot on, and if they’re not, you’re wasting your time. And here’s the nasty part: you have to do all this under insane time pressure. (I still have nightmares about not even having the time to take a leak during the 2008 morning session.) If you can keep your head above water on the morning session, you should be in good shape, because the afternoon session will be a relative walk in the park. frisian, CFA
I don’t feel L3 is easier than L2 or L1. The focus of L3 is so different. While I am sure the number of LOS for L3 is less than L2, but L3 contain huge amount of qualitative materials. There are just so much in contents to remember and memorise.
This forum is scaring the crap out of me (that’s a good thing). Level 3 is a beast. It’s funny, but I’ve heard the same thing from everyone: Level III is the easy one. . . . Just pass Level II and you’re good. . . . . . Apparently it’s not true. I’ve got a sick feeling I’m going to get my arse handed to me on a platter. After I go back and hit ethics, I’m done with the material. Time to review and accomplish my goal of 7 full practice exams.
