Its odd that they would sneak something like this into the newsletter. I wasnt able to find this information on the website. Were there other updates we need to know about?
Has anyone called yet? I would but I would not have the slighted idea what number to call or who to ask. Anyone? Buehler?
I just called customer service. The chick hadn’t read the newsletter yet herself so she said she will follow-up with the person who actually creates these and email me about it. I hate these guys. The chick said that that person was at “lunch”. Its 1:22 pm right now. Anyhoo, I’ll let y’all know what I hear.
Wow. This is WAY too important to throw at the end of an email a month before the exam. Thank you very much Jdane
weird, i didnt get this news letter… and when i logged into my cfa candidate account, the newest newsletter is dated march, not May…
FYI, I just got this e-mail from customer service. enjoy. “Thank you for contacting us. As advised in the May candidate newsletter, exam questions dealing with Financial Reporting and Analysis will be based on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) unless otherwise specified. When a question is based on U.S. GAAP, it will be stated in the question. Level II item set vignettes will clearly state whether a company follows IFRS or U.S. GAAP, and the accompanying questions should be addressed accordingly. Candidates should be prepared to answer questions using either IFRS or GAAP, consistent with CFA Program curriculum coverage. Candidates should not focus their studies on one set of standards to the exclusion of the other.”
That little hope of getting back to comfort zone (US-GAAP) just died *cries*
thanks niraj_a for getting this confirmed from CFAI.
