Belated exam

Actually not. After cancelling the exam on June 7th (Saturday), most of us went back to our beds to get some deserving sleep and after that we did not have the motivation to study. They told us on Tuesday night that your exam is rescheduled for the upcoming Sunday and by that time we had already forgotten 70% of the memorized formulas. It was a such a pain in the ass to do it all together.

I did it but even if you had prepared for it, it would have served you no better. CFAI asked questions from topics which were least expected to come in the exam.

You are dead right. It does not affect most of the people here unless it directly concerns one of their family members. Apathy, sadness.

Could be, could be not. It was just too difficult to predict the exam.

The intuitive feeling was that CFAI would change the exam since they know karachi candiates might get information from other candidates around the World. Then, there was a counter-intuitive feeling that CFAI would not change it and surpise us.

Then other theories came in like they will change the questions but keep the weights same or vice versa. Some said they will change values, shuffle the questions blah blah blah

But let’s assume that even if the paper was not changed and you got info from your sources, there was hardly any marginal benefit of having that info. The paper asked questions from all the readings. In a case study, there were 2 questions related to reading x, the other 2 related to reading y, and the last 2 related to reading x. Even if somebody had told me to read topic x, y & z, effectively, it’s like asking for studying the whole topic.

Thanks S2000magician sir.

Yes, killed all the motivation to study.

lol. The problem is these guys bring rocket-launchers of the 1980’s and since they are Russians and not Chinese, they are still very effective.

Haha. By looking at the faces of the candiates and listening to their sorrows after the exam, even 1/2 of that 90% would be just too high of a passing rate.

CFA deity has spoken.

Actually that sounds about right…If a few days before the exam, someone told me the topics, still what the hell can you do differently? It is still the same shit…practice questions, get some wrong, go back to the readings and try harder.

If you spent a year’s worth of savings on the CFA exam then you either spend way too much of your money or you’ve not got your priorities right. Who in their right mind would spend a year’s worth of savings on sitting some exam that doesn’t guarantee you a job? Crazy!
