“In other words, what looks more attractive: CA/Level 3 pass working at Big 4, or CA/Level 3 pass working as accountant at major bank/hedge fund?” I am in a similar situation, with a CPA and level 1 CFA and audit experience…from people I talked with, it is much better to try to just get into a more finance role than to take BO. I am looking at Business Valuation, Trans Service groups, M&A, etc. I am looking not only at Big 4 but pretty much anywhere, including consulting firms that offer similar services. I discussed this with a Chartholder that worked AM and is now part of running a endowment fund for a large university(he teaches and I guess is semi-retired…only maybe 40 years old). But he felt for sure dont go BO, but to look for jobs with similar skill sets that are transferable and where you can grow…(in relation to what you want to end up in). Just my two cents…
