BNN-Squeeze Play guess

I am beginning more and more to trust former engineers that have become industry analysts more than anyone else. It’s easy for someone in industry to add finance to his or her name, but not the other way around.

One more: I hate her voice and dopey-looking face. Ok back to studying, ugh!

Also, FrankArabia’s obsession with this chick reminds me of when I was in 7th grade, I had a heterosexual obsession with one of my classmates because his dad was a VP at Circuit City and they lived in a big brick house.

Her background doesnt seem to be in finance and she is related to the firms CEO. I have yet to see the video but I bet they sent her on there because she is easy on the eyes . Do any of you ( Toronto) guys work @ BCE place ? Now that place has some very “talented” females . Genevieve Roch-Decter - Equity Research Associate Genevieve is a recent graduate from McMaster University (BSc Honors), Major in Behavioral Neuroscience & Minor Study in Economics. She has also previously worked as a Junior Policy analyst for the Ministry of Health Promotion and is currently enrolled in the Chartered Financial Analyst program. Genevieve has joined LDIC in 2007 and will be providing research and analysis work as well as trading support for the firm.

Frank, you’d be surprised who the firm will send to media training and put on TV. There are tons of associate level sell side “analysts” on BNN. Especially people that cover retail clients (brokers), because that’s basically BNN’s audience. Brokers want to hear from the people they get emails and branch visits from. While great for building personal brand, I don’t see the huge value in being on BNN. We always make fun of anyone here that’s on it.

“Do any of you ( Toronto) guys work @ BCE place ? Now that place has some very “talented” females .” For your eyes has a ton of talent. Was there Saturday, very sophisticated.

maybe my standards are low and i’m inexperienced and never worked as an associate. I’m just saying, she is young, giong on tv and talking like a pro. that’s impressive. imagine her in 5 years. i’m not comparing her to warren buffet. for crying outloud, she doesn’t even have her CFA L1. she is just a beginner but she shows great potential. i wager my money that 50% of CFA holders can’t speak on her level or even have her knowledge. Turkish, i watch BNN pretty much everyday. I wouldn’t say ppl on the Associate level get put on TV very often. I’m sure you can spew off a few. but i don’t think they’re almost brand new to the industry. stop hating on her. show her your support. i say we send some flowers. 50 dollars a piece from each of you.

For pre-med, you sure about that one? HS is Health Sciences.

i didnt think she was that goodlooking but definitely knew a lot for her age. is her dad the owner of the company? i like that show squeezeplay.

Weak - she has a total “valley girl” accent. I bet she was listening to Avril Lavigne on the way to the studio. And she’d be wise to stop nodding her head like a bobble-head doll (though maybe that’s a habitual movement…?) I agree with the 7/10 rating; though that includes a couple of points for BNN’s hair/lighting team. Good thing they’re using a glass desk, or else I’d be suspicious of what she was doing to the host under there, to keep herself on camera for 8 minutes. Meh - I’m partially jealous since she’s only 22. Maybe I’m as threatened as Lang.

how you know she is 22? damm 22? omg…she is definitely amazing. she will be PM in 5 years. i think she was listening to 50 cent, not Avril.

I’ve found that the solution for obsessions like Frank’s is to squeeze one out. Guarantee your infatuation level drops by 99% within two seconds.

OK so after watching the video I would give her a 6.5 . True that she spoke well for her age ( i’m referring to the content and not how she ahhemmm said it ) however I can bet that she must have been trained for this and was aware of what they were going to talk about in advance . I wd’nt go as far as calling her amazing though .

chicks like her are hard to find though. rare, very rare. squeezing one out? can you please be a bit more professional? i’m not Karen C you know.

“Turkish, i watch BNN pretty much everyday. I wouldn’t say ppl on the Associate level get put on TV very often. I’m sure you can spew off a few. but i don’t think they’re almost brand new to the industry.” Yes, I can name a few. Do you know why you don’t notice, because they’re not all good looking (some are even dudes) and they’re not talking about interesting subjects. How much do you think she makes, Frank? Are you in the industry to be a talking head? I’d much rather be unknown making bank, than be on BNN… Again, I’m not taking anything away from her…it’s great that she was good on television and has a decent job.

turkish, I would imagine she is making 80-100k+ though might be a bit less this year. I understand they manage only 300mm so we assume they make maybe 3mm as a firm. i completely agree that being a talking head is no good (though i’m very happy she was on show. i hope they have her on a regular). Unfortunately, this industry requires talkers. i would rather just sit in a room and read annuals all day and look for good businesses to invest in. that’s what i’m diong right now for the most part but when your capital is minimal, it jsut doesn’t work. you gotta go out there and impress ppl and get their money.
