Books to read multiple times

I tried doing the Marcus Aurelius “Meditations” audio book the other day, but kinda fell asleep. There may be something to the stoicism philosophy. But the Greeks really sucked at communication. Too much rambling.

Also tried doing Taleb “Antifragile” , and same outcome. There’s definitely something to his theory, but he has to come up with 900 pgs to fill, to sell books. Too much rambling. I could put the whole thing in a 5000 word essay, bam done.

There are parallels from all periods of history to current day events, simply because people are people.

I doubt that anything approaching these things came out of the Celts or germanic tribes of the time, which were mostly savages.

No written records exist therefore savages. That’s a big simplification itself no?

Greece was quite obviously ahead of it’s time, there’s no doubt about that. What they have done of note since would be a more interesting discussion IMO.

It would decidedly not be as interesting, lol
