wow, there are over 300 items listed on eBay when you search for “bear stearns.” that’s pretty prime evidence that its employees are really scared about their prospects and will do anything to protect their financial situation. it didn’t take long for BSC shares to lose 90% of their value, but at least the bear employees are smart enough to liquidate their bear stearns t-shirts, stress balls, coffee mugs, and duffel bags before those too become worthless as well.

drs, there’s a copy of a bear stearns zagat on eBay for $25 in case you were wondernig what your book was worth. not bad, but clearly a bargain compared to the $200 polo shirt and $260 teddy bear. i never worked at bear but i’m wondering how much people would pay for an equity research offer letter there. i still have mine saved from a few years ago. of course, they made no mention of what my bonus would be…perhaps a foreshadowing of current events?
