CFA and Unemployment

Not to sound like a sob story, but I’m wondering if anyone is in a similar position as I am:

I left my job at a buy side investment firm in Canada to do my MBA. Graduated this April, and I’m pretty sure everyone knows what the job market is like these days:

Analyst position (both buy and sell side): overqualified
Associate position: underqualified

I’ve been nonstop networking/applying for positions ever since graduation and doing everything by the book. I was even able to get some private equity experience while at school.

I am a living embodiment of the old age advice of “a CFA won’t help you to land a position, but it looks good on a resume”
