I just read a news in my company’s intranet. 16 ppl earned CFA Charter this year. It is possible that ppl without the certification can not survive in my company in the new future.
oh you don’t need to just look at your company. every year about 5000 people obtain their CFA Charters. every year thousands of people lose their finance jobs. not to mention 160,000 candidates in the CFA program trying to get the charter. yea…

Calling it a certificate wouldn’t help you in convincing any so called agents
I’m kind of scared of the opposite - that once I’ve got my charter, I’ll appear ‘overqualified’ or too old for some of the entry-level stuff (I’m 28 Friday, taking LIII next year). Any thoughts on this?
oh same situation here. lv3 candiate from hk sending resume without feedback.
Same here, I send resume to all posts, both entry-level (XXX analyst) and more senior level (XXX director, XXX AVP/VP). Only the senior level have feedback.
One thing I recently found out. I received no feedback at all when I put my age/ date of birth in my resume. When I deleted the age/ date of birth line, shorter my employment history, i started to get feedback, at least get an interview. Not sure if it is just a coincident or people really look at my age in screening.
^^^^^^Are you guys from Asia, sending your resume to the USA with your age and birthday on it? Because over here Human resources will instantly throw your resume away if you are.

Another word of advice for Asians, do not put a passport photo of yourself not smiling on your resume either. If you insist on including a photograph at least make it a good picture. Everytime I get a resume here in India it always has a terrible photograph of the person that looks like a mug shot. A lot of times it will have the applicants religion on it as well. I found that an interesting twist. It allows me to have a muslim pile, christian pile, hindu pile.
Quite useful hints here : http://www.quintcareers.com/resume-dos-donts.html I never seen anyone put in picture.
mind telling me about ur age range? im wondering too old or too young would be a disadvantage…
I am in mid-30. Too old for most entry level post. I guess they are probably looking for someone 23-26 year old.
