there is one morning and one afternoon in the same spot on cfai website… so we have them split into 2 different, but really they are one full mock
They mixed it together for samples(haven’t done mock ones) So there are old questions repeating and there are new ones as well
hello folks, just got 73% on the am section, time series thing really killed me, scored only 2 out of 6, but good to know how far i have came since starting in mid-feb (i’m a dec-08 level-one candidate) there’s are still lots of weak areas for me cover… need to keep moving…
just took AM. 78%, which isn’t bad. I also struggled on Quant and Derivs (3/6 on both). Had to guess on 8, of which I got three right (good thing I didn’t have to guess on a ninth). Going to go over it this afternoon and probably take the second half on Sunday. Schweser Mock three on Monday (book 6) and then another practice on Tuesday to go over and another practice on Wednesday. Thursday, not really sure what I’ll do… probably some ethics. Playing golf on Friday, though. Good luck everyone!
AM = 81.67 (49/60) PM = 88.33 (53/60) However, I did know an answer to a derivatives question on PM due to an AF discussion, so maybe its really 52/60 or 52/59. All I know is that my brain is hurting and I don’t think I’ll be very productive for the remainder of the day.
nice scores… deep – I did recognize one vignette… go get 'em.
Just got AM-72% PM-69 I have been scoring 75-80% on scweser exams and got a 86% on first sample test. I felt the mock was an accurate measure of the exam. Last year just missed though…
just did the mock 70 for AM 73 for PM
70 AM 68 PM I’m ok with that because I haven’t really reviewed FI or PM yet, which is shockingly where I fanned it.
just did AM - 77. the item sets on quant and PM killed me, i’m supposed to remember what the equations for first differencing looks like? grrr. and i gotta go over that active risk stuff, other then that, feel pretty good. PM later today.
AM (48/60) 80% PM (44/60) 73% Nuked the franchise P/E, even though I should know that stuff. Was a bit confusing though, they asked for P/E as of 12/31/2008, but all the data said something about 2010 and 2011…
AM (49/60) 82% PM (49/60) 82% Am I missing something or did CFAI just mis-type for the second set of questions in PM. It says Alt Inv is the topic, but every question is about Fixed Income. Will it be like this on the real test? What section would these questions apply to? There are no Alt Inv questions in this entire section. (Questions 7-12)
Same thing with Economics…all they did in included all equity section in it. Real will have everything
AM 77%
just took the exams Exam 1 - 48/60 Exam 2 - 47/60 Exam 2 was way more time consuming
AM- 46/60 PM- 49/60 agreed, the 2nd half to me felt like a harder test. i just reviewed it, though, and was pretty solid through the calculation portions. few q’s- #15) i’m an idiot not to put discount rate again. but talk to me about vesting period for a sec here folks- where does vesting period swing through and affect stuff? i need to look this one up if nobody can give me the quick review on it. the FCFF stuff agree that they missed stuff in there (disposition of PP&E) but was easy enough to get to the right answer that i didn’t lose points #45) tripped me up. need to review IO’s. lastly, if somoene is AWESOME at put/call parity with forwards and wants to start a quick thread on it- i know it cold for stocks but don’t know it for fwds. booted # 50, dumb. i need to go learn this- don’t think it should be painful, but if someone knows it cold and wants to type me up the 2 min cheat sheet, much appreciated. i might have it on a notecard already- will look over that in a few. PM- please dear god please let it be an IPS set and not taxes. 6/6 b8tches. that’d be a 1-2/6 on taxes in PM. this is my one that i need a little luck on avoiding. no whammies no whammies no taxes in PM… that’s my biggest fear of a set next saturday. overall thought the afternoon side was pretty challenging. took me longer than usual for me to get through it.
For forwards Put Call Parity: P+S=X/(1+rf)^t + C Now S=F/(1+rf)^t so P=(X-F)/(1+rf)^t + C
AM: 45/60=75% Suprised myself, in a good way I guess. This may actually be doable with another 5 days of studying. Derivatives still my weak spot.
^ Cpk123 has it, as usual Agreed with bannisja on taxes, but I think that they might throw in a question or two on the various tax structures (flat and heavy, etc.) as opposed to tax calculations. I’d be surprised if they gave us something as annoyingly quantitative as the total tax formula incl. deferred taxes. That said, one of the sample exams did have the 3 asset portfolio standard deviation calculation, which is annoyingly long but easy. I think that’s more of what we’d see in terms of quantitative tax questions: easy concept, lots of keystrokes.
> few q’s- > #15) i’m an idiot not to put discount rate again. > but talk to me about vesting period for a sec here > folks- where does vesting period swing through > and affect stuff? i need to look this one up if > nobody can give me the quick review on it. Expense is based on PBO, not VBO… I think pretty much everything is based on PBO. Vested only plays a role if people leave the company before their benefits are vested. But in accounting you don’t seem to expect them to do that, so the vesting period doesn’t play a big role, right? It does however with stock options… there was a question on that and I bombed it… but I know it now… > overall thought the afternoon side was pretty > challenging. took me longer than usual for me to > get through it. Same here… Got through AM in just over 2h and felt like the man. PM cut me down to size.
