CFP Commercial

Wait, people still watch commercials?

^that’s what i was thinking

Somehow, I dont think AF was their intended audience. They were probably trying to reach the mass affluent with investable assets of $100k to $1m.

In other words, they were trying to reach people who watched the Super Bowl, which (IIRC) where this ad first ran.

Yeah brotato chip. Check out these gems.

This is like hiring a person that has passed the CFA exams but doesn’t have real experience. still a big disconnect

Pretty sure they WERE trying to reach members of the investment communitiy, specifically FAs, brokers, and those who considered or may at one point consider going into financial advisory. Of course they would like the general HNWIs to know what a CFP is, but their primary goal is to get people to sign up for the courses, for the exams, and to pay membership dues. If you are watching it, it’s for you.

Hahaha the Brotato chip one is awesome.

the difference between a CFP and the other guy is that the CFP is successful enough to pay his professional dues and it proves someone at a hacksaw financial firm hired him at some point in his life.

As the defender of financial advisors (at least the 10% of them that have their clients’ best interests at heart), many broker-dealers in the US require the CFP to use a Rep as PM platform. There are other ways they can qualify, but having their CFP automatically gains them access to the best platforms.

So, there’s that too.

What would you guess the head of distribution for a large mutual fund company brings in annually? Total compensation.

An informative anecdote.
