As I support Lebanon’s request for protected status from the European Commission for hummus as a uniquely Lebanese food, unless you move to Lebanon to make it, it ain’t hummus.

Raisins are good. Especially golden raisins in curried rice with diced tart apples and finely chopped onion. And dark raisins in mango chutney, with apples, slivered almonds, spices galore, and, when I’m in the mood, hot chilies.
