CU Boot Camp Results?

Janakisri,

Did you pass Level 3?

From my understanding, CU uses Schweser materials, so same study notes, quick sheet, etc, is there any references they provide that are unique to attending the Classes?

Cheers,

Marc uses their mind map book (or whatever it’s called) as a guide, but definitely doesn’t use Schweser materials per-se. He goes through the CFAI books, not Schweser. There are several items and references provided in the class, hence why it’s worth attending.

yes

Rehix,

Depending where you are in Canada, you can also do Schweser’s Windsor Week. It’s a 6 day program and the instructors were all former graders.

That’s a slight exaggeration: I reviewed the Level III Mock Exam at Windsor this year and I’m not a former grader.

Nevertheless, the instructors are all quite good.

Beautiful Toronto !

Windsor is on my list.

Thanks

Fair enough … I thought Dave Wiley, the Rajun’ Cajun’ and Greg had all marked at least one year.

The whole week was a blur to me. I remember showing up, eating a lot and waking up on the friday morning with a ton of confidence and a massive hangover.

Around how much it is for L3? Usually, when do they do this, April or May?

So . . . you were at the party Thursday night and you didn’t even say, “Hi!”?

It’s about $2000 + taxes (depends on whether your stay in the residences or at the Hilton) and usually runs the first week of May. I believe they also offer discounts if you work for certain companies (i.e. Top 6 Bank).

Information is available on the Schweser Web Site.

I took Marc’s class through Schweser in 2013, signing up for the package that offers the weekly evening computer live web based class, coupled with an in person 3 day review. I took mine in Philly. He was awesome and on point. His tips are to be followed and you will have success if you do what he says. He is OCD and his process is flawless. He is not big on Schweser notes. I think he mentioned that when he took level 3, he and his study mate downloaded all available AM exams from CFAI, and did each one a minimum of 10 times, in real exam conditions. This, of course, in addition to every single blue box and EOC question. He was great and I would recommend him all day long.

I would also add that passing along his work for free is not cool, and for those of you that are up on ethics, perhaps something to think about.

I agree with the above poster. If you want the notes, pony up the dough. Ususally other people’s notes aren’t that helpful anyways. If you want it bad enough you’d make it happen to attend the class.

Yes I passed . This time . It took 3 tries , so I’d say I am below par on this exam

Attended and passed. Morning was a little ugly but I power posed all over the exam in the afternoon.

Just to echo what a few other attendees have already stated - if you really appreciated Marc’s class, which is the result of many years of hard work, then don’t screw the dude by passing on his notes. Respect the IP.

For those who are asking for the notes, assuming that you are not going because of financial reasons, I would suggest contacting Marc directly and asking him if you could buy his notes from him. Marc is a super nice guy and I bet you if you explained why you can’t make it in person he would work something out.
