Yes. It’s worth at least a visit. The people there are warm and welcoming.
I went almost 10 years ago. Went with a buddy of mine who at the time had been already 3 times. We bought a plane ticket and didnt even book a hotel. Once we arrived at the airport at Cayo Coco, we rented a car and drove across the country for 5 days (my buddy had contacts in different places so we stayed with the people he knew or with people that advertised they were hosting tourists). The last 3 days of the trip we booked an all inclusive hotel and relaxed.
