Didn't sleep a wink

Sorry to hear that man, you should have just loaded up on caffine.

Two tips for the future:

  1. Marathon runners get their sleep not the night before, but a night earlier. I made sure I did that and it helped. Nothing worse than cumulative sleep loss.

  2. The day before you shouldn’t do any more mock exams or practice problems, just read summaries of the material repeatedly and check the formulas. Then around noon set a strict cutoff, and take the rest of the day to reward yourself. Go for a nice walk, go see a movie, just totally do what you enjoy and don’t check emails or anything else that may get you anxious for any reason. Absolutely forbid yourself to peak at the material during this time and stop thinking about formulas, you will only screw yourself if you do that.

I did that and while I didn’t get 8 hours, I got a solid 6 1/2 which is very good for a situation like this.

The funny part is the night AFTER the exam I didn’t get any sleep, was too worried about how I did, lol

The night before i closed my eyes but was conscious of myself being awake. Technically I guess I didnt sleep. Woke up in the morning all pumped up and ready to go. Went through AM and PM papers and didnt yawn a single time, eyes wide open with my chest full of air. Wondered how i managed to pull through without giving up. At the end of the day i became dead flat and sat for a while near the exam area before heading home. No appetite for dinner. Collapsed onto my bed and slept like a baby that Saturday night.

Definitely did sleep like a baby after the exam! 13 hours!

I didn’t sleep at all the night before, either. It was the very first time that test anxiety got the best of me.

That didn’t really matter during the exam, though. I went in with the confidence of a black guy at the gym showers and rocked it (at least I think so!).

I went back home, had a hot shower, and slept till Sunday noon.

I slept briilliantly.

  1. Pop a bendryl or Ambien

  2. Rope one off.

I had the same problem, and it’s not like me at all. Starting on Wednesday night I hd a hard time sleeping until the exam was over. Friday I was still awake at 3:30 am, and up before 6:30. So irritating. Fortunately I didn’t feel as foggy as I expected to on exam day.

I could not fall into sleep for many hours even I went to bed before early. It’s probably because I never went to bed that early. Had a horrible night and I felt tired and sleepy when I was waken by the alarm. Afriad of falling into sleep again I did not laydown for 10 minutes as I ususally do. Morning session was OK and I think I did pretty well. But after lunch it became disastrous. A couple of sets into the exam my brain did not seem to belong to me. I was slow in reading and analyzing and could not recall formulae. I was far behind the allocated time and be came panic. PM session will determine my result.

I didn’t go to bed until 5am. I woke up at 8am. It sucked!

Taking two shots of Nyquil around 10pm the night before the exam works best for me. Slept like a baby and woke up refresh!

I didnt sleep too. Im glad someone else was in my boat

If it makes you feel any better, I didn’t sleep at all prior to taking L1 and L2 exams, but passed both. (Lack of sleep was due to unfamiliar hotel bed.)

This year I was too exhausted, but slept only 5-6 hours, had dreams/nightmares about the exam, but don’t think that made a difference in the actual exam.

I took two benadryl on Friday night, slept like a rock, and woke up early to go running before leaving for the exam. I felt sharp all day.

Kind of funny story related to this. Right around 5/530 was when I finally came to grips with the fact that I wouldn’t be sleeping and just decided to stay awake. First thing I did was hopped on here to do a search to see if anyone had ever passed without any sleep, lol. Fwiw, I’d bet it’s even more common than ppl say.

I was concerned about sleep so I went to the gym Fri night and did 2 hours of weightlifting, ate a big meal, downed a couple melatonin and that helped. I was stuttering w/ speach the week before so I was fortunate to realize that I was mostly in sleep deficit so I used the weekend prior investing in rest.

Before both L2 and L3 I followed the same routine. Took my last practice test on Thursday and went to sleep early. Got up early on Friday and reviewed notes until about noon. After that I took it easy - watched tv, surfed the net, etc. In the evening I ate a light dinner and had my gf give me a long relaxing BJ around 9pm. By 10pm the lights were off. I didn’t want to go to bed too early or I would wake up in the middle of the night, but 10pm was the right time so that I would get 8 hours of sleep. Saturday morning I woke up refreshed and gave myself about an hour to take a 20 minute subway ride to the test site. All in all a stress free 48 hours leading up to test time. Needless to say I passed both levels with no major drama.

LMAO, long relaxing BJ, that would work, I am sure.

Well i was pretty fortunante I didnt go to sleep actually because both of the alarms I set for 6 am didn’t go off. So it could have been worse. Hope the lack of sleep didnt affect my performance, however, just when the proctor said put down your pencils I did notice I was overlooking something in one of the questions.

Was in the same boat; only got an hour sleep. Drank some ‘Nighty Night Tea’ and took 5mg of melatonin. Nothing seemed to work. Took 5mg of Dexedrine right before the AM session and that helped a lot.

That’s why you shouldn’t do any studying after around 4pm on Friday. You need to try as much as possible to forget that you’re taking the exam the next day…if you were working problems until 2.30am, it’s obvious that your mind won’t just shut off and relax afterwards, specially after getting a disappointing grade(I don’t know if that was the case).

I stoped at 4, although I wanted to stop at 3. I went running at the park, ran 8 miles because I wanted the run to make me exausted at night. I then took a shower, went to eat at a nice restaurant, got a 1h massage, which I have done before all levels and have helped me relax tremendously. After the massage I made sure I drank tons of water to wash down the toxins released by the massage and to help my brain function well the next day. Took a real hot shower and passed out at around 11pm. Didn’t need any caffeine on exam day. What works for me, might not work for everyone else, but I think it would work for most people.

It’s a knowledge-based exam (not application), so good prior sleep is not critical

In my case i did study untli the very f…king end, smth like 4-5 am, then 2 hour refreshing sleep, some “doping” in the morning.

Moreover adrenalin produced in stress situations will keep you sharp. After the exam almost collapsed.

I devoted last day and night to review of PM and it did help a lot! In this game you just don’t want to lose a single chance…
