lebanon, you would have a blast if you have money

Ahmadmadoff, don’t mess with me here, so seriously, no speed limits? And could you elaborate on the no penalties for getting drunk and disorderly as well as fighting please? Because I will seriously go.

the first rule of lebanon: there is no lebanon

No speed limits in a destination where you could probably BS your way into some princes Veyron or McLaren F1. Black Swan, GO!

recently we got speed radars, about 10 in the country fine is 30$, no record of your driving so if you can pay 30$ drive at 400 km/hr any time you want if you kill someone in a car accident, you pay 15, 000,000,000 LBP, about 10,000 $ and that settles it no matter how fast you were driving or if you were even drunk. plus if you are from “better” country it is very unlikely that you would ever be touched unless you murdered someone and put it on youtube. Say an Indian would get beat everyday for a month for looking at a cop, an Italian would beat up a cop and walk away. It all goes back to how feared your country and embassy are.

^ I like Lebanon. Now I understand why my Lebanese friends used to party like there’s no tomorrow.

When you see Dubai, you’ll hate where you live, no matter where you live. Fact.

I agree with marcus… I thought Dubai was heaven when I was there for four days. But my friends who lived there explained to me that that would only last a couple of weeks. After your done seeing the buildings, car, fishes, malls, etc… No SOUL

Well it is practically a slave state.

see the trick is to take your soul there with you.

Ahmadmadoff, Just before I buy tickets, would you please share with us the list of countries which are considered “better than Lebanon”, or which embassies are “feared”?

Why was Ahmadmadoff killed?

I personally would never go to Dubai. Lebanon would be a much better option in my opinion, at least the country has history and roots. Beirut used to be known as Paris of the Middle-East.

Just back from Dubai. Plenty of fun to be had in safe westernised environment. If you have time, try the Leap of Faith at Atlantis, The Palm. 27.5m vertical drop. Will give you a buzz… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zqZvUH-eefo

"Just back from Dubai. Plenty of fun to be had in safe westernised environment. " Whats up with all these places becoming so Western… I love New York and London and when I wana see that I go to New York or London… Should not each city keep its own identity, else why travel !!!

It is what it is. And you have to go find out what it is like - that is the essence of travel right? Going there doesn’t change what it is. It really is not NY or London, is it…? I mean, c’mon… There is a time & place for everything - guaranteed sunshine & safety was the main thing as I have a wife who needed the former and a one year old that needed the latter. On that note, my boy has already been to England, Dubai, France, Switzerland, Scotland & Spain. Way to go kid. He’s travelling alright.

Its fun for a bit because everything is so damn big and goofy looking, but it gets old fast.

My wife and I are going to Dubai/Abu Dhabi/Yas Island on November for the F1 Grand Prix. I’ll report after that.
