Hmmm can’t imagine why he would want to leave the lovely United States.

The bitter government strikes back…

More details from this wonderful group of guys on their brilliant “expatriate act” or whatever they are calling this nonsense. It’s just more of the same fear-based tactics that are always employed; someone got out, step up the fear tactics so that nobody else gets away.

“If Mr. Saverin finds himself desperate to come back to the United States one day…” uhh yeah I’m sure that will happen.

Seriously who cares? This nobody was in the right place at the right time and became a billionaire thanks to the work of far more gifted people and now lives in singapore boozing and boning various attractive women and we are supposed to care? (not that I have a problem with that)

Palantir, I get your point. But I would suggest it is merely one of the many infringements on your rights that are coming your way as a citizen of that place, hence why you should care. The govies don’t have any money left, what comes next 1) keeping tax payers from leaving, and 2) criminalizing people that don’t pay their debts, and 3) lots more stuff I can’t even think up but they will…

Good times!

a couple of Dem. senators (chucky schmucky and Bob Casey) are trying to get a 30% capital gains tax imposed on people renouncing US citizenship, along with other measures)

I wonder if they cleared this with George Soros first?

I’d say they have a fair point.
