ZeroBonus, thanks for your thoughts. In this league, flex is only RB and WR. I guess I can understand that the flex role may have been traditionally designed that way, but the TE role in the NFL has changed so meaningfully in recent years that it doesn’t amke much sense why TE isn’t considered part of flex in this league. But alas, those are the settings…
I am leaning towards not trading Graham for Arian Foster either. Does anybody here think I should?
Foster doesn’t seem to be much of an upgrade for you given you already have Martin (better than Foster) and Gore (comparable given the 2 RB situation in HOU?). Can you possibly upgrade at QB with the same trading partner? Graham has been such a beast, you should almost be able to name your price.
Thanks for the thoughts BValGuy and ZeroBonus. I declined the trade. I do feel that Foster would be an improvement over Sproles and probably in a meaningful way, but I’m going to try to get a top-flight WR for Jimmy Graham. The Foster for Graham offer is fair but upgrading at runningback isn’t as pressing of an issue for me, and if I can’t find a top five WR for Graham then I figure I can still get a great RB (be it Foster or someone else) from someone else at a later time.
Hey guys, who would you rather have more at this point – Frank Gore or Arian Foster? Or is it a wash? I just wonder if the Texans are easing Foster in slowly and he’s a good “buy low” candidate, or whether there’s a real potential for a platoon there.
I have a potential opportunity to get a top-flight wide receiver in another league in a three-way trade. I’m just wondering if I should make the move for Foster or trade for Foster, keep him, and trade Gore instead.
It was easier to put together than I thought: one team traded Arian Foster for Calvin Johnson, then that team flipped Calvin Johnson to me for Jimmy Graham. Trade took about an hour to brainstorm and the rest was history.
Guy that got Adrian Foster was really short-staffed on runningbacks (i.e. Ahmad Bradshaw and Maurice Jones Drew were his starters…ouch) and thought Foster might turn things around. Everyone else was attached to their runningbacks except the guy that offered up Foster…
Guy that got Jimmy Graham was pretty deep at runningback and probably thought Foster was over-valued. So he had RB’s to spare but only serviceable receivers and some random scrub at TE.
I grabbed Calvin Johnson because I was least secure at wideout, and gave up Graham because I still had Jordan Cameron and thought he could have a pretty decent season overall
All things considered, it was an exciting trade because we basically swapped top players at each position, and I think all three teams got better because of it.
I have what can only be cateogorized as a scrappy team in this league. I’ve been starting Danny Woodhead and Knowshown Moreno as my running backs, and I haven’t even played one of my top picks (Roddy White). Absurd. I really can’t believe I’m in first place after missing the first 45 minutes or so of the draft.
surprised Alshon isn’t on a roster. Grab him for sure. Keep Powell because the Jets will find ways to win games this year, unlike the Giants who seem like they’ll do anything to lose
WTF. How do I go from the bye week owner to the underdog in the semis? Damn injuries to Welker and AP. Not to mention Rodgers in the semis. Oh well. Good luck HernandezisakillerTE.
