Stephen King’s movies.
Don’t forget about the Star Wars Holiday Special.
Best Christmas movies of all time:
-
Total Recall
-
Terminator 1
-
Terminator 2
-
Predator
-
Pumping Iron
-
Jingle All The Way
^There seems to be a theme.
what about Conan and End of Days?
Those are really good Christmas movies too. I especially like the Christmassy theme of End of Days, where he gets all inspired by fighting for the Lord after not being a believer the whole movie. Best line of the movie, after being told by the priest he “has to have faith” – Arnold: “Father, between your faith and my Glock 9mm…I’ll trust the Glock.”
Bump.
Just watched “Terminator: Genisys”. Wanted to get DoW’s opinion.
I am not DOW , but the whole thing went downhill after the second one.
^Agreed. First one was good, second one was great.
Third was okay.
Fourth doesn’t count, because Arnold isn’t in it. Shouldn’t even have the name “Terminator” associated with it. And it still sucked, regardless.
Fifth one was okay. Worth watching once.
I hated terminator salvation. You have this awesome super robot fighting on their side who kicks constant ass and is the only reason they accomplish anything. Total MVP. Then he dies to save john connor who at this point is a hapless liability that constantly needs bailed out. I just couldn’t get behind the plot / premise.
2 is just the best isn’t it?
I still watch all the new ones but barely remember the plot after a week. Just not as memorable.
One and two are equally good. With terminator 1 you have the eighties aura in action films which was great. It feels alot more popcorn style than the second one.The second one is good because of the whole machine va machine thing and some of the special effects were great. The rest is only good for watching if you are on a flight or something. As irrelevant as it may be the same happened with Robocop.
With T2, the Terminator Franchise is decent to watch.
Without T2, it’s about as bad as the Twilight Series.
(Again, I don’t include “Salvation”. That would be like including the “Star Wars Holidy Special” or “Star Wars Rebels” into the Star Wars franchise.)
^The first Terminator was awesome.
pursuant to our earlier conversation I watched Genisys on netflix last night.
I enjoyed it - the twist is a new direction they haven’t taken before and the narrative was engaging. some nice homages and some thoughtfulness went into the script. Probably ranks third in the Terminator series IMO.
Anyone have any thoughts on the new bladerunner coming out?
