Financial acts of generosity

Somehow I think, charity is not generous, it’s natural acts that anyone who can afford should do and accept as normal These are generous acts, although I don’t see how one could avoid those expenses without being called greedy. Say, the first one, paying losses on the account you managed for your gf. If you would ask her to reimburse 8000$, that would be greedy, she was your ex and she relied on you. I would even fully reimburse the initial amount and probably even pay the interest she could get for it in the bank. I think what disturbs here are such exact amounts of your generous acts. Somehow generosity is rarely associated with bills. A present can be generous, but a present with a price tag on it is kind of less generous.
