We all know how hard CFA exam can be, how we study so much then we end up not passing. Yet reading posts like this can be a huge motivation for us.

I failed band 9 for the first time and only used CFAI text and Arif video’s.

I will register today to nail this beast next year! Little bummed out, but had family and friends to pick me up and put me straight. I did get somewhat annoyed when someone said ‘relax, it’s just an exam…’

Nonethless, I’m going to wait to receive the books and create a full on study plan (taking no chances next year) and will start light studying from Sept, then hardcore from Feb.

Congrats to those that passed, to those that failed, let’s keep our heads up and ace this thing next year.

You failed band 9; hell that’s close! I failed band 2 then band 6 then hit band 11 … Kill that beast!

Bilal, and others that pass using schweser, did you buy only the schwesers notes or did you buy the set of questions (cd and secret sauce) from schwersers?

I did not pass using Schweser. I actually bombed using Schweser but it worked for others.

For me it’s all about CFAI books.

I bought the books and the 2 practice exam books. But to be honest, EOC and Qbank are not very helpful. As for the practice exam books, they are 80-90% the same each year (same questions), but the content is really good.

I just advise you to master Schweser 5 books and read them again and again and again. Just go to CFAI books in case you need to solve EOC OR if you did not understand and master a concept in Schweser. It will be explained in more details in the actual books.

But just a comparison between actual and Schweser. Just look at how lengthy it is explained in actual books (u feel as if they’re explaning the concept in a Shakesperien Novel type, lengthy sentences etc…). Whereas Schweser, they just explain it straight to the point, with a very valuable “For the Exam” box in blue.
