Oh, and of course the load times were just awful, but I figured that’s a bug that will be ironed out quickly.
B, with the caveat that the load times (if not fixed) are a website killer. Fix that, keep the layout extremely clean (it was too cluttered and not uniform enough from what I saw), and implement some of the new features, and the new version may well be heaps better than the old.
C, im gonna head over to Wall Street Oasis if I want clutter.
I think the new format tried too hard to be like WallStreetOasis which isn’t the most user friendly but it has such a huge user base of knowledge and info. I like bionic turtle, it’s some what clean and has CFA/FRM prep but not the same. M&I is great because it has info you usually have to pay for. Other sites that are great… Insitutional Investor, Absolute Return, Pension & Investments, efinancialcareers I think this site would be great if it was Investment Management focused with info and content for… MBA/CFA/Jobs/Articles about working in AM/Job database/Latest Articles from Great Investors (Bill Gross/Bridgewater/Howard Marks/GMO)/Research Reports people did from school & CFA society.
Honestly… IF all the bugs are gone before launch, I would support 2.0. It was just CRAZY slow, buggy, and annoying the way it was… A for me if they fix all the bugs!

I would continue to use but would suggest a name change. Forum 2.0 is so 1980’s. There’s so many better names out there for grabs: Forum Lightning 2.0 Forum Fast and Furious 2.0 Forum Muscle 2.0 Forum Ice 2.0 Forum Typhoon 2.0 Forum Black Ferrari 2.0 The list just goes on…

Can’t blame Chad for trying to make more revenue. This current format for sure has peaked as a revenue generator. That said, I think AF could way better than WSO type, if it came up with a good standard format. For one, all the content providers on WSO do not work on the street or used to work back in the days of daytrading. I think someone like a Joey/Numi or other AF greats providing commentary over the WSO folks would be hugely valuable. So would the past threads on value investing, CDO structures, airplane finance and other topics which make AF unique. There is potential here but it needs to come slowly and not a huge change overnight.
