Funniest things on a resume - the official list: -Finance/business admin/accounting/english/sociology/archaeology/anthropology/etc major -CFA -MBA
I saw one recently that listed every membership and interest he has ever had (dating back to early high school, some I recall included: Hall monitor at high school School librarian President of the High School decorations committee President of the board games society at university
I got a resume that listed in the Other Skills section “I can use tools.” If he also knew how to make fire, I would have hired him as the desk Cro-Magnon, but we ended up going with a Neanderthal anyway. They’re cheaper.

I have seen resumes with buzzwords in white, 1 pt text, hidden to the non-highlighted cursor. Tricky tricky. Wow - I actually like that idea. I might use it myself! How can I find out which keywords are most searched?
“Tricky tricky?” What’s so bad about that? So much stuff is searched by keywords today. Your regular text says “portfolio manager” but the HR or headhunter searched using “portfolio management.” Why wouldn’t you want your resume keywords to come up in that search? I think the test is whether the keywords really seem relevant to to the resume or not. It’s no issue if the keywords genuinely seem to reflect the guy’s skills, experience, or interests, allowing for the fact that there may be some skill sets they are highlighting for whatever position you are currently looking for, and there may be others that are in the keywords but aren’t being highlighted for you. It’s a different story if the person is throwing the entire dictionary in there, so that it will come up with any search from “admin assistant” to “zombie killer”.
