I read an article on how the directors were talking about how expensive it is every time they show a dragon. I joked afterwards with a friend I told that to that they were making room for more dragons next season. Lots of carnage in 1 hour
Yes, but - strangely - not for the nude shots. They had to use a body double for most of the shots of her back because she has so many tattoos. The frontal shots where her. You can read about it, well, everywhere this morning.
Edit: There are conflicting reports of what was her and what was not. Can’t confirm anything. My groin is confused.
While Cerseis body was dope, her hair is all effed up now so she stays in place. Also, I think Melisandre will revive Jon, similar to how the brotherhood without banners did it.
Since the show is either at or beyond where the books are, can we discuss theories and whatnot now? Or, put another way, don’t read any more of my posts if you don’t want to know any hypotheses on where the book/show is going (might not be the same place).
Chances of Jon Snow being permanently dead - 0.04%. He’s one of the most pivotal characters in the series and the odds-on favorite to win the Iron Throne (even in his possibly dead state). Either Mel brings him back or he wargs into Ghost and somehow finds his way back to his body. He’s a Targ. He isn’t going anywhere.
If you really nitpick this season there is loads to be disappointed about but it’s good to remember that this show is pretty much in it’s own league when it comes to many things. They’re re-defining television and there are bound to be a number of mistakes along the way.
However well they manage to finish the series I think there will be a number of loose-ends because there are just too many interweaving storylines. What happened to Baratheon’s bastard who Melisandre took blood from and Theon’s family who are supposed to be pretty badass themselves?
I liked the Dorne scenes because we got a glimpse of Doran who seems the second most intelligent person now after Tyrion and we know GOT tends to build slowly and then gather pace when it comes to various plots so I wouldn’t be surprised if Dorne surprises a lot of people who don’t like it now. That said the ‘bad pussy’ line was absolutely cringe-worthy.
Is Stannis really dead? GOT lets us know when someone is dead , generally in extremely graphic scenes. So cutting away before it actually happened was weird unless season 6 starts with his head rolling.
Jon Snow- Wow , this should have been one of the most shocking deaths on GOT but I was like ‘Meh , I’m not even surprised’. They spent five seasons building up this character and killed him when he was coming to the fore. I hope the reasons going forward are pretty compelling but right now it just seems like it was done for the shock factor and with the amount of darkness in the show already that effect is probably being lost
They bought us the White Walkers and killed the one person who had any idea what they were capable of. It doesn’t tally unless they resurrect him in some form and if they handle it like they did the mountain it will be a poor story arc.
I suspect they’re going all out for style over substance now and it will probably be like Mad Max comes to television. I’ll watch it but this season convinced me to pick up the books.
Theons family is next season. I assumed Stannis still had a role to play, as he’s one of the false visions in Danys prophecy, but since Mel has deserted him, makes sense to end his arc.
Jon though is the key it would seem, unless Grrm just wants to mess with us. In that case story gets less interesting as I thought Jon and Stannis were two of the most intersting characters. His whole storyline is hinged on his parentage, so to kill him now would mean his character was clearly wasted.
There’s an interview that I just caught now where Kit Harrington confirms he hasn’t been signed on for Season 6.
They could resurrect him in a different form and cast someone else when the time comes or in a long shot scenario bring him back after a season like they will do with Bran but honestly , neither are convincing.
^From what I’ve heard, next season is going to focus a lot on Euron Greyjoy. I wouldn’t be surprised if next season takes places concurrently with this last season thereby eliminating the need to answer the JS questions before GRRM gets the next book out.
Even if Kit was going to appear in future GOT seasons, there’s no way the company would let him disclose this, because then everyone will know what happens in the books…
My personal opinion is that GRRM read the internet theories and then just decided to kill Jon to exercise his god complex. You know, just to crush the spirits of the legions of his worshippers. Otherwise, maybe Jon’s spirit combined into his wolf; isn’t he supposed to have some limited warg power? If a talking dog became the king in the end, that would literally be the best thing.
I think Ygritte was the cutest girl in the show and I am disappointed that she died. I want to see thay Honeymoon movie though. There is apparently a scene where she pulls a huge alien slug out of her vagina.
The moment shooting for season 7 begins someone’s going to catch him and everyone will know 5-6 months in advance he isn’t dead and the writers would have thought about this.
Either he comes back in a completely unrecognizable form as we see magic start to play an even more prominent role or he really is a goner.
Is anyone else annoyed with how they created the dragons on the show? They seem to be more wyvern-esque, than classical dragon. When I imagine a dragon, it has four legs with separate appendages for wings.
That’s the way they are in the books too. GRRM’s response is generally something along the lines of, “there’s no such thing as dragons so I can make them however I please.”
I saw some feed talking about GRRM’s dragons and poined out that there are no vertebrates with six limbs, so Wyvern-esque dragons make more sense than classical dragons. Besides, is there really much difference? The things are huge when adult, fly, and breathe fire. That’s dragon-y enough for me.
As for Jon, it looks like he really does know nothing, at least while he’s dead.
And yeah, what about Bran… basically we went a whole season and he hasn’t moved or done anything from where we were at the end of the last season. Also Rickon, though that may be less interesting. There was basically no Warging going on this season, though some people think Jon might have warged into Ghost.
I also thought it was a bit odd that we didn’t see Stannis die. On the one hand his final words of “do your duty” might have fit his character, the idea that he would accept that Renly was the rightful king and not say “he was an usurper, the older brother precedes the younger brother” did seem very un-Stannis like. Though I suspect he just thought it was time to get it all over with and die.
I would not be too surprised if Stannis shows up alive in the future, having come to some sort of temporary agreement with Brienne. On the other hand, Brienne is not fully rational when it comes to things Renly, so it’s quite plausible that she decided to flay him herself.
