Global Warming

Can we all at least agree that losing Florida to rising sea levels would be a good thing?

Ghibli…

not if you own cat bonds

Now that the Hamptons are overrun by hipsters, that area should be consumed by the ocean as well. It is the only way to be sure.

Michael man is in that photo. He’s an interesting character. See below. And anyway, I’m part of the consensus as well if they polled me. Read the actual questions of the survey. Almost all 'skeptics" are part of that 97% as well.

No, don’t want to respond? When I look at your chart, and the one that I think NASA is using the same data for, my ignorant eyes tell me that global temperatures are continuing to rise. But you’ve said temps peaked in the 90s…what am i missing?

Blue is the measured temp. It did peak in 1998. 2015 was really hot too. We literally just lost a degree in six months though. Not show on chart. Amazing really. Yellow is a very inaccurate prediction by the models. Funny thing is the creators of the models have yet to fall on their swords. Your predictions probably would have been better.

KmeriwetherD, do you own these?

Forget the yellow line, just looking at that blue line clearly shows a trend towards global warming. Yes the anomaly was largest for a brief period in 98, but the trend is clearly towards above average temperatures. If you run a regression on that data it’s going to conclude there’s a warming trend.

Does this data go back longer than the 80s which would show prior periods like we’ve seen since '98? Is the NASA data in the link I provided such data?

I’m genuinely interested to hear an argument that global warming isn’t happening. If it is, then I can start researching whether it’s man made or not and what the impact of CO2 might be. Seems like the majority of people who point at global warming as a joke are also arguing that it’s not actually happening. Right now I’m not seeing that through objective data, your chart being one of those.

global warming is legit. 2 degrees celsius is coming and Drumpf is going to be left behind with his pie in the sky dream of bringing coal jobs back to 'merica.

I think the real question we are all asking is when will we get a bump up in monthly rent income in Hamptons house due to warmer temps and earlier prime rental season.

The temperature of the earth has gone up and down for billions of years. And in the last hundred years the temperature has increased a bit. The rub is that there is not even correlation with CO2, much less causation. There has been just as much warming in the first half of the 20th century as there has been since, if you look at just about meaningless data given the margins of error. The satellite data, the chart I provided, is the only data set that has a margin of error that even allows for analysis.

If you’re not a troll…I’m assuming you’ve missed most of my posts over the last six years.

Not trolling you, genuinely interested to learn. Appreciate the info, I’ll watch this tonight.

Ugh, there are too many threads on climate change. angry

Cmon guys, it’s too complicated for normal people to understand. The masses can’t even understand USG indebtedness, is it $20T, or $200T? They can’t do basic finance math and have no idea. They certainly can not follow any climate change math/reasoning.

Drill baby drill!

Are you scared? I’m lovin’ it, as they say.

^You must be a fan of official corruption at the highest levels of government. I’m just grabbing my popcorn.

I was not aware that Republicans and Democrats breathe different air or drink different water.

It appears Republicans think that way. Cigarette companies denying they cause lung cancer…
