"GS student arrested for child pornography, enticing a minor to have sex"

I asked you guys a question…

My beliefs aren’t set in stone, so I’m open to everything. Right now I think being pedo is more psychological than it is biological (e.g. growing up with older parents means you tend to like older people and vice versa). I also think culture plays a role too. It’d be interesting to know what causes people to be attracted to a specific age. I don’t think anyone is born to like the same sex, but I believe mutations in DNA (when it’s created after fertilization) is what determines sexual orientation.

Ok, so kind of like how Sally from Sonic the Hedgehog created a generation of Furries, and how presumably Game of Thrones is responsible for all the sister pron lately.

Most of the philosophy on free will isn’t grounded in reality. We’ve only had the ability to watch decision making at the brain level for a few decades. And we can clearly see the decisions are made before they even enter conscious awareness. If we ask split brain people about their choices, they certainly have convincing stories about their decisions although they are easily shown to be incorrect.

Behaviors can change without it being a choice. If we forced someone to take an addictive substance consistently, it wouldn’t be their choice that now their desires change. Are you suggesting that the results of addiction would be the choice? If not, where do you draw the line. You have no control of the chemicals in your brain, the structure, the tumor growing on the amygdala or whatever else could be the case.

It just seems like you are too focused on the narratives we tell ourselves to realize how much of an illusion it is.

Lol, it’s grounded in logic and reality. What you wrote is nonsensical and shows your (not my) inexperience with the subject. You may not be able to control the chemicals in your brain but you obviously can weight that in a decision. Hence why many people have been able break addictions. You’re confusing an input into decision calculus. On a neurological basis we know for a fact that neurons and not chemical levels control actions and that while chemicals can impact moods and interpretation, they don’t trigger firing of neurons. For instance even the worst addict knows not to walk up to a uniformed officer and ask to buy drugs. Extrapolate. Anyhow, nice try maybe when you’ve spent more than 5 minutes constructing illogical arguments with made up definitions you’ll be more able to properly present an argument against logical scaffolding that has with stood debates from sharper minds going back 2,500 years to Plato.
