How difficult is L2 compared to L1

Thanks biotech. A lot of what they were saying is what I have already heard. My brother went 3/3 and had indicated that L3 was similar to L2 in the pain involved in the preparation, but the actual exam seemed more difficult. While it seems pretty candidate specific, it appears that the L3 exam sucks in general.

Second, stop complaining about everything in life, the Russians who got the awards actually deserved it we will let the talk happen on the ice come 2010. Once you get your russian nuts screwed out of your bloated brains, you will realize the guy you are refering to scored 13 goals and 9 assists (22 pts in 26 games, +13) in 2004 playoffs and is the same guy who scored twice in the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics gold Medal game. If I were you, I would concentrate on June 2010 for repeating the CFA level 2 (I assume that’s the lvl you just wrote). I wonder why the Russian hockey league is trying to steal Canadian players??? Any guesses!!

Level 2 is like Level 1 only on steroids. There is considerably more material in Level II and in much greater detail. I read somehwhere that there were over 550 LOS’s in Level II. Level 1 is like a university undergraduate Business 101 programme, while Level II can be thought of as a graduate level material. I have many unoiversity degrees and I can say Level II was incredbly vast in quantity and very detailed. Good luck!

L1: riding a bike in a riverside park L2: riding a horse on a bumpy road

All that said, derivatives was pretty easy

What was difficult? just a lot. but not hard.

he he he - that is what you need to do once you complete the exam!! leave it behind do not let the past haunt you down… smile but not for a long

The key to passing Level II is to nail Financial Statement Analysis (the largest point-getter by far). The key to nailing Financial Statement Analysis is to take the John Harris course on FSA that he gives to prospective Level II’ers. In the early days, John would even give this course to only 4 or 5 dedicated postulates (he would never cancel, whatever the numbers). Now, I think he has to rent out Madison Square Garden. Your pass rate potential WILL go up SIGNIFICANTLY if you take the Harris course. No, I am not John Harris, but after I took and passed Level II and saw that star at the “>70%” column on FSA on my “PASS” from CFA, I did the fist pump and said, “John Harris, you da’ man!!”

Level 1: Meg Ryan Level 2: Jack Nicholson ~ 1974

Not when I took Level II. It was heavy FSA. By the way, if you can find someone to teach you Equity as well as Harris teaches FSA, please reply to the whole board.

I’ve heard from a few people that Level 3 is actually the easiest.

bump… for the newcomers

Agree with mwvt9. BTW, what happened to riyaz?

L1 - BJ from emanuelle chriqui L2 - HJ from a homeless guy L3 - Giving a BJ to a homeless guy while getting kicked in the nuts by emanuelle chriqui

Bump for the new guys.

this thread is f’ing hilarious.

At dawn, after a busy night of terrifying children worldwide, The Boogie Man prepares for bed. What was that sound? … Did you SEE that? … No, it couldn’t be. Everyone knows the CFA Level 2 exam isn’t real. It can’t be real, can it? Creaking sounds echo through vacant hallways as The Boogie Man cautiously opens his closet… Nothing. Peering under his bed, The Boogie Man senses movement behind him as a cool draft pours over the room. Terrified, The Boogie Man dives into bed, pulling the covers over his head. Residual income, international consolidation, Treynor-Black and conditional prepayment rates can’t get me here, can they? Just to be safe, The Boogie Man snuggles with his CFA Level 1 teddy bear. It’s so fluffy and harmless. He drifts into a restless sleep, haunted by the inevitability of behavioral finance, RRTTLLU and SAMURAI… if only he can weather the insatiable wraith of Level 2, if indeed Level 2 really exists.
