Hi Southfloridaguy Your post has given me a tons of energy like. Because after passing L2 in first attempt, I failed in L3 very badly in June 2010 & moreover recently we are blessed with two boys. They keep me fully busy at home & could not concentrate on studies till now. I thought of skipping Level3 altogether, but your post has given me some hope. Please forward your notes to me as well, which will be of great help. arumugam.velu@gmail.com Best Regards GOD BLESS YOU Posted by: southfloridaguy (IP Logged)
Hi Southfloridaguy thank you so much for sharing your experiences with us. It is a hard journey for all of us but with determination, we can make it. You set a great example. I would appreciate if you could forward the mocks to me at christjyu@yahoo.com. Thank you.
Southfloridaguy: More of a process question for you. How much time you spent on esoteric readings which on surface do not appear to be worth spending time on? I mean things like “Ethics in Practice”, ethics cases, Corporate Governance readings? thanks

If it’s not too troublesome I really appreciate if you can send to me the mock exams - yeowyiren@gmail.com or to the email you see here - andrewyeow@petronas.com.my Thanks! and congratulations of course ^^ has the Glory / joy of passing subsided ?

As for Corporate Governance, I read through every single reading and re-reviewed my highlights. My assumption was that such material could be tested even though there were no end of chapter questions. If I recall correctly, there was a corporate governance case study on the afternoon session last year.

All, I just e-mailed everyone beginning with whoiswu from Feb 23 post. If you did not receive, let me know.
Last but not least. Can someone please e-mail the exams to me at kevine8@optonline.net? Much appreciated!

I’d like to thank Southfloridaguy for his amazing post. I was in similar predicament and had given up any hope of passing, till I read that post in April 2011, I printed it out and pasted it on my living room wall. Every time I was down with family responsibilities, I read that post and it inspired me to never give in. I finally made it through!
SouthFlorda, send me the link please
Southfloridaguy, belated congrats on passing the exam and I think I can speak for most here on AF that you’re an inspiration for all who are still in the trenches battling L3. Keep up the good work and best of luck in the finance field. I’d appreciate any notes, mocks, or emphasis that you placed in the L3 prep. My email is magic.finale@gmail.com Thanks a bunch!
Went from fail, band 5, in 2010 for L3 to pass this year. Used Schweser notes and took two of the CFAI online practice exams. Key to studying second time around was using the proper format for answering the morning essay questions (Schweser actually has a good format showing “for the exam” responses for practices tests) and took as many practice tests as I could find - 12 in all. Key to practice tests is to take the entire test in one sitting and not cheat by looking for the answer in the notes on questions you don’t understand…helps to reinforce the material when you review the answers after each practice test
