Leave the GPA off and if asked emphasize that you graduated Sine Laude. Nobody speaks Latin anymore, so if you soudn proud when you say it you will probably skate.
Interviewed an upcoming May grad a couple of weeks ago. He resume didn’t include her GPA so I asked about it and her response was “It’s okay, college is hard.” I wouldn’t suggest using that line.

Be honest, say you wanted to experience college life before going into the real world. Honesty is better than making up excuses (unless you have a legit one - i.e. health issues). Everyone knows finance degrees aren’t hard, even at the best schools.
Tell your interviewer a compelling story about how you fought adversity during your college days. According to some AFers, that’s a sure ticket to a dream job.
Talk about how you had to run to school because you had no car and there was no public transportation. It was 26 miles each way (the equivalent of a marathon), so you spent close to 8 hours per day on the road just to get to school. You still graduated above a 3.5 in your major. Pretty impressive.
^?, it was honestly due to some of the classes that i simply was not interested in.

Just say that your GPA was better than Alexy Vaynov’s. Should settle any questions.
