Thanks to the response to my questions. I’ve been leaning more and more towards looking at PE as a post-MBA/CFA career, although I realize I don’t have the traditional background and the next couple years is probably going to be a horrible time to look for any job in finance. Even if it’s an unlikely shot I figure I might as well find out as much about it as I can, the insight is appreciated.
Thanks for the feedback to all and especially Numi. I have never done an M&A model but am getting some operational experience from my current restructuring role. Private equity is something I’ve thought about but it wouldn’t be my first choice. Hoping to get into distressed debt where M&A modeling may be helpful for 363 sales but probably isn’t a must have. good thread.
