Anybody driven a Honda Odyssey? Tha’s what I’m looking to get next. My wife and I currently have a Subaru Outback and a VW Bora V6 4motion. I love driving the VW but it’s a lemon, breaks down every 6 months and parts are expensive. We got another kid on the way so thinking of ditching the VW and getting something bigger. The Subaru is a great car but with another kid I can it becoming a little cramped, expecially when we go on holiday drives (prams, portable cots, golf clubs, etc, etc).

So far I’ve looked at the Citroen Picasso C4 7 seater but decided against on advice from my mechanic (another tempermental european car). So thinking of sticking to Japanese. And I don’t want to buy American. And fuel economy is important to me. Anybody drive anything they like in the 7 seater category and that suites my requirements.

Honda Odyssey is the only “manly” minivan. It also doesn’t drive like a boat. So while the size might be disorienting after driving something like a VW Borra (US: Jetta), taking a fast corner will not be as terrifying as it would be in say, a Toyota Sienna.

If I had to get a minivan, though, it would probably be Mazda 5. It’s not as spacious as a Honda Odyssey, but it’s a more efficient design. I’m not a very big person though.
