Interview to Offer Ratio

Awesome cloud! I’m still waiting on the interviews I had 2 weeks ago. Early this week I followed up with a call, left a message for one (saying thank you, if you needed anything don’t hesitate to ask…blah blah), then on the other, the interviewer picked up, again led into the call with a thank you. Then he said, “well, I’ve been busy, I still need to follow up with other applicants…I’ll have my assistant call you in a few weeks”?! I won’t be holding my breath.

D’oh.

a thank you note is extremely important. when they called me to give me the offer, the first thing my interviewer said was that my thank you note was well received. always follow up any interview with a thank you note, probably within 24-48 hrs. that may just be what tipped it in my favour as during the interview itself i felt like they tore me a new bum hole!

Adding this trend. I spoke with a friend of mine from over a drink this weekend, (seems I have been doing that a lot recently?) and asked what he thought was an accurate interview to offer ratio in this market. He actually did the math during is job search. I thought I would share: For a (Average-Above Average) Finance Candidate, For 15-20 resumes sent = 1 interview For 3-4 interviews conducted = 1 second/third round invite For 3-5 second/third round interviews = 1 Offer!

Wow so the guy sent 400 curriculums to get the offer, not incredibly encouraging but interesting, thanks

No, he sent 400 resumes.
