Absolutely. I don’t trust people who have it the other way.
A disturbing thought came to mind…
^ was it CFAvsMBA with a sieve?
Got my iPhone 6 and I’m pretty happy with it, not bent yet.
was considerably cheaper than the best deal I could find on the 5s when I priced it up last month naively thinking that I could get a deal on a model that was about to be superceded.
Got a 4G plan as well which is really quick. Quicker than my ‘unlimited, highspeed broadband’ at home that is patchy as fuck.
Yes, it was CFAvs MBA walking in and giving him some…
…well let’s spice it up, it’s a five letter word that starts with p and ends with s.
I figure having a sturdy case should help deal with the bending issue. Flex is not necessarily a bad thing in itself, although flex-which doesn’t restore to the original form is as is flex that is so easy as to amount to floppiness.
I did order an iPhone from Verizon, and got one of their $200 gift card deals, which my understanding is that I can use to pay my bills. I also got a new phone plan that’s cheaper than what I had before and has the same or more of everything. I’m a little worried that the iPhone 6 is going to be a much bigger data hog than my current 4s, but even if I go over, I’m still paying less.
Now I’m looking at cases. I figure I’ll get a hard or possibly metal shell case, and then I want to stick one of those card holders to the back to hold my metrocard. That should be good, as I hate fishing out my wallet to get into the subway, whereas I’m usually holding my phone already, so it’s easy enough to slip out a card.
I really like some other cases, but I think the convenience of the stick-on card holder, plus a more solid shell is just more sensible for such a device.
LG mocks Apple’s bent iPhone (but uses an iPhone to send its tweet)
Bump.
Anybody bought one of these iPhone 6’s? Can you comment on it?
My wife bought one, and it seems to be good. She likes it, and the camera is noticabely better. I’m wondering if anybody else has something to add, good or bad.
^ I have an iphone 6 regular, used the camera for pictures and video for first time this weekend. I’m not an expert in photography by any means but images looked very clear and nice on a bigger screen when I uploaded them.
I can’t remember if i’ve posted this already: I’ve looked at my buddies iPhone 6 and I hate the lines on the back. The gold version is totally not gold either, it’s more like cheap champagne.
Yeah, I’m the DB quoting himself, but one of the things that sucks about forums is you can’t really track portfolios. Having a paper portfolio function on here would be great.
Anyway, I need to start trading this stock. As of now, I’d sell immediately after the Apple Watch release. What say you?
The wife just got one too (the big size), she likes it. My first impression is that it is another huge win for Apple…especially in Asia.
It’s freakin’ huge, but it feels great; thin, lightweight, fits in jeans pocket even though large. After surfing the net and reading emails on 6, going back to my 5 feels clunky and annoyingly small. We both commented on this.
Camera seems sharper/better. Screen seems more clear, even though old screen didn’t seem unclear.
Another first impression; fingerprint unlock is a win. On the 5 you need to do SIX touches to unlock your phone (touch button to wake, slide to unlock, 4 digit code). With this sort of thing you always want to reduce six downward, they managed to reduce it to ONE touch, AND increase security. All you do is touch the fingerprint button and you are in business. I tried to break into her phone but impossible, I would need to cut off her finger.
Standing back, this is yet another lesson on how Apple keeps winning; they keep their customers buying but they don’t piss them off. They didn’t design 5 to be obsolete, I wasn’t cheated. It’s still great, there’s no reason I should want/need to upgrade. I could use 5 for a decade, it’s flawless. And yet dammit, once I touch 6, I want it.
It will be interesting to see what happens with Watch. We don’t need that either, but after people touch it they may change their minds…
I like my iPhone 6. I upgraded from a 4s, so I like the snappier response time.
Aesthetically, I like the curved edges over the body shape of the 4 and 5, but it does feel like it could jump out of your hand easily and I don’t like that feeling, even if it’s never actually happened. It’s made worse by the fact that the size is large enough that you need most of your hand to grip it and that grip sometimes has to loosen for your thumb to travel to different parts of the screen.
I like the fingerprint sensor opening as well. Press the home key to wake it up, and hold over the fingerprint sensor and it will unlock. Or you can use a passcode so your wife can peek at your emails while you’re in the shower. The sensor will read my right thumbprint, but it won’t recognize my left thumbprint so if I reverse hands, I need to use the passcode.
There’s nothing about the phone that truly blows me away, but it is a nice step up from what I had before in most respects. And I appreciate not having to hunt down and pay for new apps that I would need to do by switching ecosystems. I don’t think Android people are crazy to like android (though I think Win8 is crazy), but I like how my apple products play well with each other.
Go in settings and scan your left thumbprint as well.
Cool! Thanks!
Nope…still not “cool” and losing to Google Glass…
Apple breaks through the $700 billion mark

Looks gay.
Got the 6+. Fits in my pockets just fine.
Now that Verizon finally allows for simultaneous talk and data on iPhones (hello 2011, nice to meet you), I’m going to give the 6 and 6+ a look when my contract is up for renewal.
You must have really big pockets. The Plus is a mammoth phone.
