have you seen the movie W? its on netflix right now. so awesome. wish i had parents who can hook me up in life.
“There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own. Nobody … You built a factory out there? Good for you. But I want to be clear: you moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for; you hired workers the rest of us paid to educate; you were safe in your factory because of police forces and fire forces that the rest of us paid for. You didn’t have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory, and hire someone to protect against this, because of the work the rest of us did. … Now look, you built a factory and it turned into something terrific, or a great idea? God bless. Keep a big hunk of it. But part of the underlying social contract is you take a hunk of that and pay forward for the next kid who comes along.”
some of this - however unpopular may be - is actually true though. If that factory owner got incredibly wealthy, he owes an amount to the tune of the aggregated marginal external costs borne by society (reduced by the adjacent benefits). All of that is highly subjective though, but I get it, sooo unpopular and Elizabeth Warren has said some “stupid” things before - when hasn’t trump though?
This hypocrisy is what I can’t stand about republicans. Y’all want to worship a dude who I’m highly convinced is incapable of stringing together a complete thought into a coherent sentence, but then condemn a gal who was on some B.S about being Navajo. Is that because she’s a chick? Or is it because Elizabeth Warren routinely stands up for the consumer when it comes to regulating banks? (Which is just sooooooo bad, omg, standing up for the public. . . [im being facetious]).
now, that being said there is a lot of things I can’t stand about liberals too. I hate em both really.
